Oliver from Horndean Technology College applied to us way back in December 23 to come and do his school work placement in July 24. During his two weeks at Fat Olives he was keen and interested to embrace what ever job was given to him from hand picking samphire, baking biscuits and pin boning fish.

Oliver spends time at home in the kitchen producing meals for his family and showed great passion to help create our accompaniments for our dishes. Along with assisting our team he learnt the importance of respecting all food, meat and fish and that waste should always be a minimum.

As with all of our placements Cake is champion on their last day!! Oliver cooked up a lovely carrot cake for all of us to enjoy after lunch service. Thank you Oliver it was a pleasure to have you with us and we hope that you continue to enjoy cooking at home and look forward to hopefully welcoming him into our industry.
